Your Student Account
What is a student account?
Your Student Account is where tuition, fees, and other charges (like registration or course fees) show up. You鈥檒l manage it through the Student Account Center at . Housing charges go through the at the Village鈥攏ot your student account.
What can I expect from my Student Account?
You can view current and past charges, make payments using credit/debit card or e鈥慶heck, set up installment plans, track pending financial aid or refunds, and see waiver or residency adjustments.
Who do I contact about fees on my billing statement?
You can learn more about fees charged by consulting Chapter 7 鈥 Fees and Tuition of the . For questions about fees or other student account matters, contact Student Financial Services at SFS@nevadastate.edu.
Where can I find my 1098鈥慣 tax form?
NSU issues 1098鈥慣 forms by January聽31 each year. To view yours: log in to , go to Finances 鈫 鈥淥ther Finance Information鈥 鈫 鈥淰iew聽1098鈥慣,鈥 then select the tax year. Contact SFS if you have questions.
Financial Aid
What if my financial aid covers all my charges?
If your financial aid fully covers tuition and fees, you don’t need to take further action. Still, check your Student Center to confirm award status or pending documents.
What if financial aid doesn鈥檛 cover my balance?
You are responsible for the remaining balance. You can pay it or enroll in a payment plan before the due date to avoid holds or cacnellation of future enrollment.
What happens if my financial aid exceeds my charges?
Any excess aid will result in a refund, managed through BankMobile Disbursements. You can choose direct deposit, receive a paper check, or open a Vibe checking account.
How do I update my refund preferences?
Visit to choose or change how you receive refunds.
How does financial aid apply when I have housing charges?
Financial aid will be applied to housing charges after all registration fees are paid. Students can opt-out by emailing SFS@nevadastate.edu from their student email account, in which case they will be responsible for paying the balance due to the housing office.
Past Due Accounts
What is a past due account?
Your account is considered past due after missing payment due dates or payment plan installment deadlines.
What happens if I don鈥檛 pay on time?
If you owe $200 or more you won鈥檛 be allowed to register at NS or any NSHE school, and may lose future enrollment. Your account may be referred to a collection agency; you鈥檒l be responsible for any additional fees.
Why am I being contacted by ECSI Recovery Select?
NSU refers accounts over 45 days past due to ECSI Recovery Select. They help manage the balance and payment arrangements, but they are not a collection agency. Payments can be made via debit card or ACH, and you may be able to set up a payment plan. If ECSI is not able to assist you, they may refer your case to a collection agency.
