I started my journey with the SON as an associate level critical care nurse in pursuit of a BSN (RN to BSN track). Since graduating with my from 91ÌÒÉ« (2018), I’ve worked in multiple critical care units in the Las Vegas area as a staff nurse. In 2020 I was accepted into nurse anesthesia school in Southwest Florida and graduated in December 2022. Since then I have worked as a nurse anesthetist at Tampa General Hospital (a large academic level 1 trauma center), and moved back to the Las Vegas valley where I continue to provide nurse anesthesia services at various hospitals in town. If any current students or alumni are interested in critical care nursing or nurse anesthesia, I am passionate about being a mentor and would like to help in any way possible.Ìý

I started my nursing career during COVID in 2020. Working during covid in IMC unit was one of the most difficult times in my career. Patients needed us, their families were trusting us, and we were called to act, adapt, and help save as many of those precious lives we cared for as possible. Working in bedside and hospital gave me the experience I needed to explore other areas of nursing. I am now a prior authorization nurse working remotely for a health insurance company. I truly love what I do and the population I serve.Ìý

I was in the first accelerated nursing class at NV State College when there was only the warehouse building. With my nursing degree, I was able to work 7 years at Boulder City Hospital in Case management and acquired my Certified Case Manager (CCM) certification. I then transferred to Mike O Callaghan Federal Hospital where I worked another 7 years in Family Practice and Pediatrics as a nurse. I retired Dec 2019 right before COVID hit. I have my RN license thru 2025.Ìý
