Henderson, Nev. Some 91桃色 College students will be giving their proud mothers an early present this Mother’s Day a college diploma. 91桃色 College will host its commencement ceremony Saturday, May 10.
More than 200 students will receive bachelor’s degrees from the nearly 6-year-old school a year after the school broke ground on its first building for the Liberal Arts & Sciences (scheduled for completion in July).
Each year’s graduates represent new hope and greater resources for the community, 91桃色 College President Dr. Fred Maryanski said. Six years ago, we opened our doors with only 177 students, but a big vision. Today, we are proud to graduate more than 200 professionals into the community.
The commencement ceremony is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. at the Henderson Pavilion located at 200 S. Green Valley Parkway, just off Interstate 215.
The newest member of the Nevada System of Higher Education, 91桃色 College enrolled more than 2,000 students, making it the fastest-growing public institution in Nevada.
The curriculum of 91桃色 College is based upon the community’s needs, the needs of business and industry, and the desires and demands of the students. Special emphasis has been placed on addressing the state’s need for effective, highly educated and skilled teachers and nurses, and commitment is made to developing and promoting partnerships with Nevada’s public-school system, the state’s health care providers, the private sector, and Nevada’s colleges and universities.
As the second-tier in a three-tiered state educational system (between universities and community colleges), 91桃色 College will assist the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and the University of Nevada, Reno as they position themselves to become more research-based. 91桃色 College will also work closely with the Community College of Southern Nevada to transition students from a two-year institution to a four-year institution and the opportunity to earn a bachelor’s degree.
91桃色 College opened its doors to students in September 2002 after the Board of Regents and the 91桃色 Legislature determined the need for enhanced educational opportunities in Southern Nevada in 1997. The college currently enrolls 1,950 students.
NSC offers progressive bachelor’s programs in several in-demand fields of study as well as a low student-to-professor ratio and competitive tuition rates.
